Day 1Arrival in Beijing & Pick-up

Beijing Airport Parking Lot

Upon your arrival in Beijing, your guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Relax in the hotel during the remainder of the day, or you can have a self-exploration with suggestions from your guide. 

Day 2Beijing

Attractions: Temple of Heaven, Hutong, Peking opera facial mask painting, Tian’anmen Square, Forbidden City, Kungfu Show

 local guide will meet you at your hotel lobby at the appointed time. It will be an exciting day as we will explore the world well-known wonders today. The 1st stop is Temple of Heaven, the existing largest structure for sacrifice to heaven and a place where the emperors prayed for a year of abundance. In the visit of Temple of Heaven, you will be astonished by the exquisite ancient Chinese architectures. Besides, you will see local seniors doing morning exercises in the square and full of vigor. You will have chance to watch Chinese Kongfu, Taichi, square dancing, playing cards, playing chess etc.

Then you will enjoy a Beijing Hutong tour by rickshaw with a local family visit, which will give you a deep impression of the local residents’ live. Then we will have a stop at a Chinese courtyard and take a Chinese culture experience – Peking opera facial mask painting.A la carte lunch is served at a local restaurant to have a taste of the authentic Chinese food at noon time and have a break at the restaurant.

Then continue this Beijing city treasure tour by a visit to Tian’anmen Square, the world’s largest city center square, the locality of numerous major political and historical events. It is the witness of Chinese development. It is only a walking distance from Tian’anmen Square to Forbidden City, the world’s existing largest and most complete ancient wooden structure buildings. You will explore the glorious palace halls and gardens for more than 2 hours in Forbidden City, learning the legendary story of the emperors and how the royal family lived there. You will be stunned by the numerous old art treasures exhibited in halls. At night, we will arrange a lively and dramatic Chinese Kung Fu Show at the Red Theater. The memorable Beijing city tour for the 1st day ends by dropping off at your hotel lobby. 

Day 3Beijing

Attractions: Mutianyu Great Wall, Olympic Park, the exterior of Bird Nest and Water Cube

Our guide will meet you up at the hotel lobby and start to explore the Great Wall.Drive to Mutianyu Great Wall, which section is more popular among foreign visitors. Upon arrival, you can choose to hike on the Great Wall, or take cable car up and walk around.

Lunch time at Xiaolongpu Restaurant, famous for the vegetable food, such as fried vegetables, dry-fried beans, sweet corn cakeDrive back to Beijing city, while you can take a nap in the car. Visit the exterior Bird Nest and Water Cube, the amazing architectures that built for Beijing Olympic Games. After that you will experience Chinese tea at tea house.Back to the hotel, en route you can plan for the night activities, such as foot massage, houhai night bars and Sanlitun bar street.

Day 4Beijing - Xian

Attractions: Summer Palace, High speed train to Xian

In the morning, check out from hotel and start to visit the last spots in Beijing —Summer Palace, the existing largest, best-preserved imperial garden in China. The Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake are regarded as the representative of Summer Palace. In the park, you could choose to take a boating trip on the lake, enjoying the beautiful royal garden view. Walk along the Long Corridor— the longest corridor in the world, admiring the extremely rich and prestigious paintings on the beams of the corridor.

A la carte lunch will be arranged at a local restaurant on the way to Beijing West Railway Station to take high speed train (2nd class seat, duration: about 5-5.5 hours) from Beijing to Xi’an. Our guide will wait at the exit of Xi’an train station with our signboard and transfer you to check in hotel. Free at leisure for the rest of the time。

Day 5Xian

Attractions: Ancient City Wall, Tai Chi Chuan Course, Terracotta Warriors, Pottery workshop

Today we will have a full day to explore this historical and cultural city in China. Pick up from hotel in the morning, and then have a visit to the landmark of Xi’an–-Xian City Wall. You could choose to have a bicycle riding on the city wall (***Bicycle riding is optional and excluded from our price***). An impressive Tai Chi Chuan course is arranged at the City Wall for you. Originating from the roots of classical Chinese culture, Tai Chi Chuan absorbed a variety of sources including the Book of Changes, Taoism and Buddhism. With a professional Tai Chi Master’s teaching, you will understand Chinese culture better.

After that, we will drive to the highlights in Xi’an —the Terracotta Warriors. On the way to Terracotta Warriors, we will have a stop at a cave dwelling pottery workshop, where you will have chance to learn how to make a miniature terracotta warrior.  A la carte lunch is arranged at a local restaurant nearby Terracotta Warriors. In the afternoon, we will have enough time to visit this world wonder — Terracotta Warriors, one of the world’s most important archaeological finds, with troops, horses and carriages in battle formation.

The tour finishes by dropping-off at the hotel lobby. You could ask your local guide for some information about evening entertainment or night show, such as Tang Dynasty Show.

Day 6Xi'an - Shanghai

Attractions: Small Wild Goose Pagoda, Fly to Shanghai

You will have a leisure morning for you to walk around. We will check out at noon time and drive to have lunch directly. In the afternoon, Visit the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, one of the most well-preserved Tang Dynasty buddha temples. It is reputed as the Tang Dynasty elaborate and valuable Buddhist architectural heritage. While visit the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, you will have chance to watch the traditional shadow play, visit Jianfu Temple as well as Xi’an Museum.

Take a short flight from Xi’an to Shanghai, one of the main gateway cities in China.

Day 7Shanghai

Attractions: Shikumen, Yuyuan Garden, Chenghuangmiao Old Street, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, City History Museum, the Bund

The last day but still an inspiring day to explore the city of Shanghai,the largest and most modern city in mainland China. We will start the tour by walking into Nong Tang, the alleys in Shikumen, where you could witness the locals’ relaxing and plain life. You will also find the unique architectural feature of Shanghai.Then continue the day trip to Yuyuan Garden which is a Chinese classic garden in city downtown. Then continue to explore the Yuyuan Bazaar (Chenghuangmiao Old Street) nearby.

After a la carte lunch is served at a local restaurant, we continue our trip to the foot of The Oriental Pearl TV Tower to visit Shanghai City History Museum (The Former Shanghai Wax Museum), where you will know more about the history and development of Shanghai. Then take the elevator up to the 2nd ball of the TV tower, from which you will have a bird-eye view of Shanghai. Go on driving through Lujiazui, the finance & trade zone in Pudong of Shanghai, where you will find many skyscrapers. We will have a view of the modern skyline of Shanghai.

Then back to the Bund, admire the illuminated buildings lining the Huangpu River. From the Bund, you could see the landmark of Shanghai— the Oriental Pearl TV Tower as well as other high-rised buildings, just on the opposite of Huangpu River.

Day 8Shanghai - Huangshan

Attractions: Free time in the morning, High speed train to Huangshan, Transfer to hotel

You will have a free time in the morning, when you can explore Shanghai or shop around by yourselves. Check out from hotel in Shanghai at 12:00. Our local guide will meet you at hotel lobby and transfer to Hongqiao Railway Station to take high speed train to Huangshan city (duration: about 3 hours). The local guide will meet and pick you up at the exit of Huangshao Bei Railway Station. You will be transferred to hotel. Check in hotel and free at leisure for the rest of the day. You can walk around Tunxi Old Street by yourself.

Day 9Huangshan

Attractions: Mt. Huangshan

Hotel: Overnight in Huangshan

Our English-speaking guide will call to your hotel one day in advance to confirm the meeting time. You will be picked up from lobby of Huangshan International Hotel (Add: No. 31 Huangshan Road, Tunxi District, Huangshan city) at 07:30. You will need to arrive at the hotel beforehand by yourself.

Then take the coach from Hangshan city to Huangshan Scenic Area (If foreign visitors less than 10 pax, sharing the coach with Chinese tourists, but with an English speaking guide for foreign visitors). The group will arrive at the entrance of Mt. Huangshan at 08:30-09:00, where you are arranged to take shuttle bus to Yungu cable station. You can take Yungu cable car to the top of Mt. Huangshan(cable car at your own expense: CNY80 per person per way).

Upon arriving at the top, you start admiring Huangshan sightseeing by visiting White Goose Peak, the Beginning-to-Believe Peak, Black Tiger pine, the Lion Peak, a Monkey Gaping at the Sea, the Flower Grown out of Writing Brush Rock etc. on 09:30-14:30. Enjoy lunch on the top of Mt. Huangshan by yourself. Lunch will be on your own expense.

The group starts to get down the mountain on foot. You can also choose to take Yungu cable car down to the foot. (Cable car at your own expense: CNY80 per person per way). Then we will take the coach back to Huangshan city at about 16:00-17:00.

Day 10Huangshan - Shanghai

Attractions: Hongcun Village, High speed train to Shanghai

Check out from hotel in the morning and deposit your luggage in the hotel, then we will spend half a day to explore Hongcun Village. As the field setting for Ang Lee’s movie “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”, Hongcun Village is a beautiful ancient village. It is often frequented by painters, capturing the blend of pools, willows and the ancient Hui-style architectures on Canvass.
Our English-speaking guide will call to your hotel one day in advance to confirm the meeting time. You will be picked up from lobby of Huangshan International Hotel (Add: No. 31 Huangshan Road, Tunxi District, Huangshan city) at 08:00 in the morning. You will need to arrive at the hotel beforehand by yourself.
Then you will take the bus to Hongcun Village for about 1.5 hours. As the fild seeting for Ang Lee’s movie “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”, Hongcun Village is a beautiful ancient village. It is often frequented by painters, capturing the blend of pools, willows and the ancient Hui-style architectures on Canvass. The group will visit Hongcun Village Scenic Area (including South Lake, Chengzhi Hall, Lexu Hall, Shuren Hall, etc.) on 09:30 – 11:30.
The group will return to Huangshan City on 12:00-13:30. You will have enough time have a lunch on your own. Then our local guide will pick you up from hotel lobby and transfer to catch your high speed train to Shanghai. With a pick up from the exit of train station, we will transfer you to check in hotel in Shanghai for a break.

Day 11Shanghai Departure

Shanghai

Free day at leisure and be transferred to the airport for return flight. We can arrange the Maglev train ride to Pudong airport if you are interested in, or we will drive you directly to the airport.
