Overview:

Visit Xi’an’s holiest and most historically significant sites on this two-day tour of Shaanxi Province, all without the hassle of arranging transport or booking your own tickets. On the first day, visit the Terracotta Warriors in nearby Lintong and then spend the afternoon walking Xi’an’s ancient city walls; on the second day, travel east to the precipitous and intimidating Mount Huashan and hike up some of the mountain’s many peaks.

Day 1Xi’an Arrival

Attractions: The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses, Bell Tower, Muslim Quarter, Xi'an City Wall

Hotel: Overnight in Xi’an

You will arrive at Terracotta Warriors Museum. Your tour guide will take you through every important figures, horses or weapons. By examining the terracotta figures discovered here, you can imagine how Qin soldiers looked like 2000 years ago. From the horse cart and weapons displayed, you will have an idea how these soldiers used to fight. If you look closely enough, you will discover that each figure has different facial expressions, which is very astonishing considering how many figures are there. Then, you will know how great this work must be and why the Terracotta Warriors Museum is regarded as the eighth wonder in the world.

Visit the Ancient City Wall, there are two choices available. You can either walk or ride a bike, or even take a golf car. This City Wall is the best preserved and most complete wall that has survived through China’s long history. It is about 12 meters high, 12 to 14 meters wide across the top and 15 to 18 meters thick at the bottom. The entire circumference is about 13.7 kilometers. It can take a while if you choose to walk all through. 17:00: Drop off at the hotel.

Climb on the Bell Tower or Drum Tower and learn about the Tang Dynasty architecture and the timing technology. The Bell Tower is located in the very center of the city and from here you will be able to observe the whole layout of the city.

Located west of the Bell Tower, the Muslim Quarter was once a place just for Muslims who had migrated from other places. As time went by, a unique Muslim culture was formed and this place has become a must-see site for anyone coming to Xian. If you wish to hunt for local food, learn about folk art, and explore the mysterious Muslim culture, this is the right place.

Day 2Xi’an Departure

07:30 a.m: Meet your hiking tour guide and set out for the hiking tour. 09:00 – 15:30p.m: Mt.Huashan is located 120km southeast of Xian City.It takes around 2 hours to get there. You will have an adventure hiking tour. Mt. Huashan is praised as “the First Odd Mountain in the World”. It boasts five imposing peaks with sheer precipices and overhanging rocks. The east one is called the Peak of the Rising Sun which is the best location to view sunrise; the north one, the Peak of Cloud Terrace which is famous for cliffs on its three sides;the west one, the peak of Lotus; the south one, the Peak of Wild Geese which is the main peak and also the steepest of Mt.Hua shan with the elevation of 2,083meters; the Central one, the Peak of the Jade Maiden, which links the east, west and south peaks. Each presents a unique scenic beauty, surrounded by over 70 minor peaks. 17:30 p.m: Drop you off at your hotel.
