Day 1Xi’an Arrival

Hotel: Overnight in Xi’an

Welcome to Xi’an! Upon arrival, be greeted by our local tour guide who is holding a sign with your name in the Arrival Hall of Airport or Railway Station. Then a comfortable vehicle (non-smoking) with an experienced driver will transfer you directly to your hotel in Xi’an downtown. Your guide will help you check in. The rest of the day is on your own to discover this beautiful city.

Day 2Xi’an

Attractions: Huashan Mountain

07:30 a.m: Meet your hiking tour guide and set out for the hiking tour. 09:00 – 15:30p.m: Mt.Huashan is located 120km southeast of Xian City.It takes around 2 hours to get there. You will have an adventure hiking tour. Mt. Huashan is praised as “the First Odd Mountain in the World”. It boasts five imposing peaks with sheer precipices and overhanging rocks. The east one is called the Peak of the Rising Sun which is the best location to view sunrise; the north one, the Peak of Cloud Terrace which is famous for cliffs on its three sides;the west one, the peak of Lotus; the south one, the Peak of Wild Geese which is the main peak and also the steepest of Mt.Hua shan with the elevation of 2,083meters; the Central one, the Peak of the Jade Maiden, which links the east, west and south peaks. Each presents a unique scenic beauty, surrounded by over 70 minor peaks.

Day 3Xi’an

Attractions: Terracotta Warriors and Horses, City Wall, Muslim Quarter

You will arrive at Terracotta Warriors Museum. Your tour guide will take you through every important figures, horses or weapons. By examining the terracotta figures discovered here, you can imagine how Qin soldiers looked like 2000 years ago. From the horse cart and weapons displayed, you will have an idea how these soldiers used to fight. If you look closely enough, you will discover that each figure has different facial expressions, which is very astonishing considering how many figures are there. Then, you will know how great this work must be and why the Terracotta Warriors Museum is regarded as the eighth wonder in the world.

Visit the Ancient City Wall, there are two choices available. You can either walk or ride a bike, or even take a golf car. This City Wall is the best preserved and most complete wall that has survived through China’s long history. It is about 12 meters high, 12 to 14 meters wide across the top and 15 to 18 meters thick at the bottom. The entire circumference is about 13.7 kilometers. It can take a while if you choose to walk all through.

The rest time of this afternoon is to spend some leisure time at the bustling and lively Muslim Quarter, a place where you can try different local snacks and explore Muslim culture.

Day 4Xi’an Departure

Attractions: Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Huxian Peasant Painting and Dumplings Making

After breakfast, head to Da Cien Temple, a famous Buddhist sutra translation site during the Tang Dynasty. Giant Wild Goose Pagoda is the most famous building in the temple. The pagoda, rising to a height of 64.5 meters, was built by the famous Buddhist master Xuanzang to preserve classic scriptures he bought back from India during the early Tang Dynasty. Xuanzang was the prototype character for Tang Seng in the famous Chinese novel “Journey to the West”.

Later, drive around 1 hour to Huxian, visit local painter Zhangqingyi’s house. Firstly you will be warmly welcomed by lion dancing, drum playing, then learn to make dumplings, and cook lunch together. Huxian is famous for the Peasant Paintings, they reflect the rural daily lives. You will learn to paint it in vivid colors. After that, drive to airport or train station, tour finishes. Flight is departing after 7pm, train leaves after 6pm.
