5 Days/4 Nights

Day 1Xi’an Arrival

Attractions: Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Great Tang All Day Mall
Meal: Not Included
Hotel: Overnight in Xi’an

After breakfast, head to Da Cien Temple, a famous Buddhist sutra translation site during the Tang Dynasty. Big Wild Goose Pagoda is the most famous building in the temple. The pagoda, rising to a height of 64.5 meters, was built by the famous Buddhist master Xuanzang to preserve classic scriptures he bought back from India during the early Tang Dynasty. Xuanzang was the prototype character for Tang Seng in the famous Chinese novel “Journey to the West”.

Grand Tang All Day Mall is the best place to experience Xi’an Tang culture. The design of the buildings and statues is in Tang style, showing people the ever glory of that great time.End of tour, you will be transferred back to hotel.

Day 2Xi’an

Attractions: Terracotta Warriors and Horses, City Wall

Hotel: Overnight in Xi’an

You will arrive at Terracotta Warriors Museum. Your tour guide will take you through every important figures, horses or weapons. By examining the terracotta figures discovered here, you can imagine how Qin soldiers looked like 2000 years ago. From the horse cart and weapons displayed, you will have an idea how these soldiers used to fight. If you look closely enough, you will discover that each figure has different facial expressions, which is very astonishing considering how many figures are there. Then, you will know how great this work must be and why the Terracotta Warriors Museum is regarded as the eighth wonder in the world.

Visit the Ancient City Wall, there are two choices available. You can either walk or ride a bike, or even take a golf car. This City Wall is the best preserved and most complete wall that has survived through China’s long history. It is about 12 meters high, 12 to 14 meters wide across the top and 15 to 18 meters thick at the bottom. The entire circumference is about 13.7 kilometers. It can take a while if you choose to walk all through.

Day 3Xi’an

Attractions: Small Goose Pagoda, Muslim Quarter, Great Mosque, Gao’s Grand Courtyard, Bell & Drum Tower Square

Hotel: Overnight in Xi’an

In the afternoon, we will drive you back to downtown Xi’an to visit the Small Wild Goose Pagoda first, which was built in the year of 707 during the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and has been well preserved until today. It is a landmark of the fusion of Buddhist and the Han culture. Then, we come to visit the Great Mosque, a perfect combination of Islamic culture and traditional Chinese architecture.

After getting out of the mosque, we will leave you some free time to explore the nearby famous Muslim Quarter, where you could taste many delicious local foods, and hunt for some unique and interesting souvenirs.

We will also visit Gao’s Grand Courtyard and Bell & Drum Tower Square. Finally we will transfer you back to your hotel.

Day 4Xi’an - Luoyang

Attractions: Longmen Grottoes, White Horse Temple
Meal: Not included
Hotel: Overnight in Luoyang

You Xi’an tour is now about to end. Our guide will see you off at Xi’an Railway station for a high speed train trip to Luoyang (about 1.5 hours).

You will be picked up by our tour guide at Luoyang Longmen Railway Station. Then we will drive to the iconic site of Luoyang – Longmen Grottoes.

The grottoes, which earn the fame of one of the Three Treasure Houses of Stone Sculpture in China, were created over 1500 years age. There are 2300 caves and niches withover 100000 Buddhist figures.

Later we will go to visit White Horse Temple. It is the first temple invested and built by the court after Buddhism was introduced into China about 1,900 year ago.

After visiting we will transfer you to the hotel in Luoyang.

Day 5Xi’an Departure

Attractions: Shaolin Temple
Meal: Not included

Today we will explore Shaolin Temple.

Shaolin Temple is the source of Buddhist Zen and Shaolin Kongfu. The Shaolin Temple has developed into a unique cultural phenomenon in its 1500 year history and becomes an integral part of Chinese culture.

The tour will be finished today. Our tour guide and driver will see you off at the airport/train station for your next destination.
