Day 1Xi'an arrival

Attractions: No

Hotel: Overnight in Hong Kong

Today you may make your own way to travel from Hong Kong or from Guangzhou or Shenzhen ( close to Hong Kong) to Xian ( air-ticket or train ticket is not included ). We will arrange a guide wait at your train station or airport, and they will take you to the hotel with perfect facility and your guide will help you with the check-in.

Day 2Xi'an

Attractions: Shanxi Provincial History Museum, The Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Bell Tower Clock Tower, The Muslim Quarter, Shanxi Grand Theatre

Hotel: Overnight in Xi’an

On the first day of this trip, our guide and driver will come to your hotel at the agreed time to pick you up and start the day. Today’s schedule is very tight, you will fully immerse in Xi’an’s traditional cultrue. First visit Shanxi Provincial History Museum. It is a huge complex of buildings in the style of the Tang Dynasty. Today, it combines the traditional flavor of ancient Xian with modern science and technology, which gives it a new vitality.

Then visit The Big Wild Goose Pagoda. The Big Wild Goose Pagoda is one of the oldest buildings in China. First built in 589 AD during the Sui Dynasty, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. It was originally composed of a five-story brick structure, about 60 meters high. During the reign of Empress Wu Zetian, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda added five more stories for a total of ten. Unfortunately, it was damaged during the Second World War and reduced to seven stories, which is how it looks today.

After lunch, we will guide youto the Bell Tower and the Clock Tower.Located in the center of Xi’an city, this two tower connect the east, south, west and north roads within the city walls. On top of the Clock Tower, you will have an overall veiw of the Xi’an.

Finally, visit The Muslim Quarter (not including a visit to the Grand Mosque). The Xi’an Muslim Quarter is located just behind (north of) the Drum Tower. The bazaar in the Muslim Quarter is the most attractive, it is a big commercial area where you can buy any goods with Chinese Muslim characteristics.

After the day tour, you will arrive at Shanxi Grand Theatre around 6:00 p.m. We have arrange you a great dinner for you to enjoy inside the theatre. Afterwards you will enjoy an exquisite show related to the theme of the Tang Dynasty. The Tang Dynasty show showcases the costumes, music and dances of the Golden Age of China: the Tang Dynasty. After the show, we will transfer you back to your hotel.

Day 3Xi'an

Attractions: Terra-cotta Army, The City Walls

On today’s trip, we will drive you to the Terra-cotta Army at first. The terracotta warriors and horses were built by Emperor Qin Shi Huang.It has now been transformed into the most important attraction in Xi’an – the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. The museum covers a large area including Pit 1, Pit 2 and Pit 3, as well as exhibition halls for chariots and horses. The museum and the tombs are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

After returning to Xi’an, our guide will show you some nearby restaurant, and you can have a lunch as you like. After lunch, visit The City Walls. The main attraction of Xi’an is the City Wall, the most complete surviving city wall in China and one of the largest ancient military defense systems in the world. It is surrounded by a deep moat. You can walk on the city wall or even ride a bicycle. After finishing the tour of Xi’an City Wall, we will transfer you back to your hotel.

Day 4Xi'an-Beijing

After breakfast at hotel, we will take you to Xian Airport and catch morning flight for Beijing. On arrival in
Beijing, our tour guide will meet you at the airport. It is time for you to take a short rest at your hotel, and after that we will visit the Temple of Heaven ( 1.5 hours ), a place where rituals were held during the Ming and Qing dynasties. In ancient China, rituals were an important activity where rulers would pray for peace and health for the people and a suitable climate for the country. This is now a lively place where locals participate in traditional activities such as tai chi, dancing, kite flying, and water calligraphy. The rest of the day is at your disposal, and you can explore this city at your pace.

Day 5Beijing

Attractions: Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace

After breakfast at the hotel, start your visit to Tiananmen Square (40 minutes). Stepping into Tiananmen Square, you will see The Forbidden City, one of the five most important palaces in the world, a huge palace complex of more than 9,000 rooms where 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties lived. Then visit a silk factory where you can admire silk products and traditional Chinese silk art (40 minutes). Our guide will show you around, and you can choose a restaurant for your lunch.

After lunch, we will drive to the outskirts of Beijing, continue your visit to the Summer Palace (2 hours), which was originally a royal garden and temporary residence of the emperors of the Qing Dynasty. We will spend a pleasant afternoon at the summer palace.

Day 6Beijing

Attractions: Thirteen Ming Tombs, Mutainyu Great Wall

Hotel: Overnight in Beijing

After breakfast, we will pick you up around 8:00. Drive to the Thirteen Ming Tombs. Here are the tombs of thirteen emperors of the Ming Dynasty. Afterwards you will visit the Ding Tombs, the only excavated tomb of the Ming Dynasty.

After Chinese lunch, proceed to Mutianyu Great Wall, where we will hike the Great Wall of China. The Great Wall is a huge military defense project against unexpected nomadic attacks on the Wall. It is a very spectacular attraction. Also the Great Wall is known as one of the eight wonders of the world. Finally, we will transfer you back to your hotel.

Day 7Beijing-Departure

Attractions: Shichahai Area, Yandai xiejie, Drum Tower

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Shichahai Area (2.5 hours) – the old part of Beijing, where we will take you to visit a century-old courtyard. Then get on the bus and walk through the hutongs with Beijing characteristics. Get off at Yinjiao Bridge and walk along the 800-year-old Yandai xiejie to reach the Drum Tower. Climb the 67-meter high two-story Drum Tower to see the large drum tower and have an overall view of the surrounding hutongs and courtyards, a microcosm of Beijing life. On this day, you will be escorted to the airport or train station for your flight or train to next destination!
