Overview:
In November, Leishan County near Kaili holds a grand ceremony to celebrate the Miao New Year’s Festival. This special tour allows you to experience an authentic local atmosphere at the right time and visit more villages. Unlike traditional Chinese New Year, Miao New Year is often celebrated after the rice harvest, and usually lasts 5 to 15 days. People worship their ancestors, play the lusheng (a reed instrument), and visit their nearby villages during the festival.

Welcome to Guiyang! Once you arrive at Guiyang Longdongbao Airport, our local driver will pick you up and we drive directly to Libo. Enroute visit Qingyan Ancicent town.

After breakfast, you will visit the Seven Little Arches Scenic Park (Xiao Qi Kong). You will find both surprise and pleasure. The Seven Small Arches Scenic Park is a narrow valley in the natural forest. Renowned for its beauty, it offers visitors a breathtaking view of the beautiful green water lakes, the magnificent waterfalls that fall from the karst cliff and the idyllic forests that are perfect in postcards. There are caves, forests, lakes, waterfalls, stones and waters. We explore the forest, we hike in the valley with 68 layers of waterfall. From there, head to Libo Scenic Area (40min drive) for further exploration aboard a ferry across the lake, an experience that offers an entirely different perspective to this beautiful region.
After the tour, we go to Kaili, the capital of Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture in southeastern Guizhou and stay overnight there.

First, you will visit Qingman Miao Village, a Village known for its distinct costumes and the traditional way of killing cotton fabric for making clothes. Next, head to Upper Langde Village with a large number of preserved wooden buildings. As one of the first Miao villages to open outside, tourists can enjoy the distinguished welcoming ceremony here. After that, we will move to Xijiang Miao Village. While walking the paths, you will enjoy an amazing view of the river valley with terraced fields, and intricate wooden houses. Entering the village and enjoying a local performance presented by women disguising silver ornamental jewelry. After visiting Xijiang Miao Village, we spend the night there.

Wake up with a beautiful view. We hike around Xijiang Village and enjoy the fresh air. Then we drive for an hour and we go to Leishan County to join the biggest Miao New Year Festival and celebrate with hundreds of thousands of local Miao villagers. You will see some kind of activities, such as Lusheng dancing, horse racing, chamois fights and take a close look at the ethnic clothes of the Miao, and even join them to have a dance. At the end of the day, you will be driven back to Guiyang City. Evening ideas: go to the streets and alleys to find food in Guiyang. In the evening, you should not miss the street food in Erqi Rd and Minsheng Rd for the night market.
